Under world class skies

Daniel Verschatse Observatory is located under the privileged night skies of the IV Region of Chile, in Río Hurtado, situated next door to the professionals at Gemini South, Cerro Tololo, SOAR and LSST.

Light pollution is very low at our site, with SQM readings close to 22 magnitude.  The atmosphere is generally stable and very dry. As per historic data provided by Cerro Tololo the percentage of nights that offer at lest 6 continuous hours of clear sky is 66% through the year and up to 82% from November to March.
